Why the Cross?

Scripture: Mark 15:1-32

We are finishing our Mark study coming to the cross of Christ. We see that the Roman guard, who played a role in crucifying Jesus recognized Him as being the Son of God. If we are to make Jesus King of our Kingdom we too must recognize Jesus as the Son of God. Why the cross? Why does the cross help us see Jesus as He truly is?
