Living Fully in Christ

John 15:1-8

“Abide in me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches.  Whoever abides in me and I him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” -- Jesus quoted in John 15:4-5 ESV

“Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.  Instead, [keep on] be [ing] filled with the Spirit.” – Ephesians 5:18

“Since, then , you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.  Set you minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” – Colossians 3:1-4

“So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control …Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” – Galatians 5:16,22-23,25

What abiding looks like…

•         Trusting & obeying
•         Listening and praying
•         Being fruitful… Some evidence of this is:  Internal changes, Outward evidence and eternal impact.
